I have been receiving a lot of inquiries regarding travel insurance, therefore, in an effort to assist people looking for this type of insurance, I am going to give you some links to specific travel insurance companies I have researched, which are offering you value for money.

I am also including links to insurance companies that provide travel policies for the over 50's to 99 age group, with or without pre-existing medical conditions.

I trust that this will be of assistance and I will be adding more information and updates as I do more research on travel insurance policies.Visit this page for updates on a regular basis as I will be up-dating regularly and providing you with links below.
Worldwide Travel Insurance Services Ltd is regulated and authorised by FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and offer UK and EU residents an extensive range of travel insurance policies. Whilst you may be in possession of a EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), this card only covers you for public health services treatment in the EU country that you are visiting.

For EU residents you can find full details of the policies on this EU LINK
For UK residents you can find full details of the policies on this UK LINK

Car Hire Excess Insurance

Unfortunately the price you are quoted for your car hire is not the actual total price of the car hire. Many of you will have found this out to your disappointment when you arrive to collect your car hire and find that there is additional charge to be added for CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) which can be very costly double the cost!

For an instant online quote use this LINK

To avoid this you can take out Car Hire Excess Insurance. This insurance will cover you for damage or theft of the vehicle up to the value of £50,000. The insurance covers:

  • Collision Damage reimbursement allowing you to claim back charges in the event of vehicle damage or theft
  • Damages to any part of the vehicle including windows, tyres, lost/stolen keys and undercarriage
  • Misfuelling is covered under Deluxe
  • Hiring anywhere in Europe or Worldwide
  • For frequent car hire clients, we have an Annual multi-trip cover for up to 60 days per rental starting from as little as £41.00, which allows 4 named drivers from the same address
  • Single car hire, daily rates start from £2.30
  • Cross border is covered if allowed on the car hire agreement
  • The insurance also covers motor homes and camper vans
I have successfully used this insurance for some years now and have avoided the excess charges that the companies apply. Be warned they will insist that you are not covered by their own insurance, but you have peace of mind that you are covered in the event of a damaged or stolen vehicle, at an economical rate, not the elevated rates that they charge. ;-)

Dental

There no such thing as NHS dental treatment in the Canary Islands. All dental work is charged privately, therefore, if you value your gnashers, want to keep them in prestine condition and give your best dazzling smile, it is recommendable that you take out dental insurance to obtain discounted rates on dental treatment.

For example:
  • A filling would cost you around 54.00€ with no insurance / with insurance 27.00€
  • A metal or porcelain crown would cost you 316.00€ no insurance / with insurance 158.00€
  • Titanium implant would cost you 990.00€ with no insurance / with insurance 495.00€
I think you get the idea!

Using Optima Adeslas's own dental professional clinics you can obtain up to 50% discount on treatments or using partnered dentists to Adeslas up to 35%. Optima can also provide finance plans for your dental treatments.

These are just some of the 26 free dental services:

Home content insurance

Sound advice from Yoda....

If you are renting from a landlord/home owner, please be aware that you are not covered for your own personal contents under the landlord's home insurance. I cannot prevent loss of your prized possessions through theft, fire, floods....but, help you I can!
